Producer Chris Young has enjoyed a long career in the music industry since he graduated alongside Josh Groban and Jewel from the Interlochen Academy of the Arts. Young has been producing music in collaboration with some of the music industry’s biggest names since 1995. When he first graduated from Interlochen, however, he wanted to perform with the big names, so he took his trumpet and did so with such illustrious acts as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Guns ‘N Roses, Elton John, and more. After playing backup for these excellent musicians, Young decided to rededicate himself to music. He studied songwriting, production, and engineering. He eventually developed enough skill, his talents brought him to sign a lucrative contract with EMI.
Producer Chris Young is now under contract with Ultra International Music Publishing, for which he has produced many songs that have appeared in movies, network television series, and large advertising campaigns by Fortune 500 companies. Young has worked with many unknown and established artists over his career as well, helping to produce albums by Alicia Keys, George Clinton, and the Wu-Tang Clan among others. He even made a singer out of “Real Housewives of New York” costar Countess Luann, who recorded a single with the help of Young, called “Money Can’t Buy You Class.” The song was one of the top ten downloads on iTunes.
Producer Chris Young says that he loves to bring new artists into the studio because it allows him to get yet another perspective on life and art. He says that he loves to work with international artists as well, because the work gives him a new perspective on the global sound.
